RAZ Community Services

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. —Psalm 34:18

In 2009, Chukwubuikem Wugochukwu, President and Founder of Righteousness Adorned Zion, established RAZ Community Services as an extension of the organization's mission to serve those in need. Since its inception, RAZ Community Services has supported 593 individuals—men and women released from prisons and jails who had nowhere to go and faced insurmountable barriers to housing and stability.

Recognizing the struggles of formerly incarcerated individuals, RAZ Community Services partners with government agencies and nonprofit organizations such as the Department of Corrections (DOC), Sound Mental Health (SMH), People of Color Against AIDS Network (POCAAN), and the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS), among others.

Upon release, individuals often receive only $50 to $200—an amount insufficient to rebuild their lives. Many lack family support, have been abandoned by loved ones, and are left feeling hopeless. This is where RAZ Community Services steps in. Just as Christ called us to care for the most vulnerable, we become the family they need, walking alongside them on their journey to restoration.

Our support includes securing food assistance, guiding individuals through the process of obtaining valid identification at the Department of Licensing (DOL), and working with partner organizations to secure funding for stable housing. We believe that no one should be forgotten or forsaken. Through compassion, advocacy, and direct support, we help individuals transition from incarceration to a new life filled with hope and purpose.

At RAZ Community Services, we are committed to breaking the chains of despair and replacing them with faith, hope, and opportunity. By the grace of God, we continue to uplift and restore those in need, ensuring that everyone has a chance to reclaim their dignity and walk in the fullness of their purpose.
